My very first contact with performance was 3 years ago,
when I received a Denys´s Blacker phone call asking me for
make some pictures of Gresolart´s Performance Festival,
celebrating Women´s day.
At the beginning I just felt interest about the aesthetic
questions on performance. Performers, they can create
really good situations for a photographer. In other hand,
they can also create very problematic moments for us,
working mainly with a very poor light and moving in some
cases very fast.
I remember the first images I got from this festival, my
first impression was terrible!!! When I saw the place (a
castle in La Bisbal, near to Girona) and I checked the real
light those women were going to use... How could I make
pictures in those conditions!!
The truth is that in Performance I learned and am still
learning to adapt myself, my eye and my camera to the
situation that the artist creates. I am discovering a new
way of making images, feeling free of rules and
preconcepts. And I am also learning to understand and
appreciate this young (?) way of art, the performance.
I decided to make this website to promote my work as a
Performance Photographer and also to promote the
Performers.
